Terrible experience. Same issues as another reviewer on Amazon. Console did an “update” when first plugged in and the screen went black as is no video was being sent out. Tried using the unit with 6 different games with it just being stuck on the hyperkin logo. No menus and no loading. Removed SD card that came with unit and it’s a cheap no brand sd card. No firmware is available to rebuilt/create another SD card on their website anywhere on web. Contacted hyperkin support and after about 2-3 days I got them to send over the firmware and now the system is working as intended. Might be unlucky or could be a toss up if the SD card is bad. Either way.. the system doesn’t work without a working SD card so for future sake id recommend getting a hold of the firmware for backup.
Sorry for the problems. If you don’t get it working, reach out to woot customer service for a return.
I decided to roll the dice now that the system is $35 (with discount) as that’s almost what the controller costs separately. I will keep it sealed until I either need the controller or a community firmware is available.
