Yeah, I’m not sure. Like Jeremy said, we have for the last 10 years or so and in these new forums save a copy of the image so we don’t end up with blank images years down the road.

TIL: when the system grabs a copy of an image you posted and saves it locally, it has to edit your post to refer to the new saves image. It was sending you a message to tell you your post was edited.
I’ve now turned that edit message off so you shouldn’t see it any more.
Local saving means we’re not always linking to the remote site for the image. Faster page loads and images aren’t lost if the host site removes it.
