Very good reviews (4.5 out of 5.0) over at AGTstores.com

Reviews over at Overstock

FWIW,I own this table, purchased from QVC about 5 years ago. I love it. It’s easy to convert and is great for small yards.

This price is comparable to what I paid 5 years ago but you can’t beat the $5 shipping.

I bought this the last time I saw it here, and am very pleased.

The previous comments helped me decide to go for it.

Assembly was straightforward, the top and benches have all the slats in place, you just do the bracing and all vertical parts.

Everyone who sees it loves it.

Can you seat 4 adults at the table? How about 4 full on 'Muricans (call them 225# each)?

Waiting to see answer to the above question…

I am trying to figure out if the price is for ONE bench, which would equate to half of a picnic table, or one table that becomes two benches. It makes a big difference in whether this is a good deal or not!

Can it be used outdoors? (withstand rain adn other extreme weather conditions?)

Not sure where you got that impression. It’s pretty obvious by looking at the pictures that one bench becomes one picnic table.

My parents have a similar table/bench, if not the same one.

It’s gotten wet in rain storms and baked in 90±degree heat and sun. It’s good.

Some of the reviewers on other sites mention treating it with a sealant (like Thompson’s)

My mom bought the same table from QVC, She weighs about 150, My stepfather reins in at 225, I am 270, my kid is 45 pounds.

We used it this weekend on the deck. I did not feel like we had a ton of room, but I didn’t feel like my kid was on my lap either. They seemed to have enough room as well, Food in middle took up to much space and had to be served on separate table though.

so the seat when in picnic table fashion looks to be about 2-2x4s wide. Add about 1/2" gap (being generous) and you have what i might consider a rather narrow seat. From my experience most comfy picnic tables run 3 boards wide for the seat. So would this fit a 225#er, I’m sure. Would they be comfy for a game of cards against humanity, I don’t know that they would. I don’t own one, have thought about building one a few times, but I figure maybe some speculation could help if no one with experience owning one speaks up.

I have to vote “No.” If you look at the closest bench on the unfolded product in the photo woot! provided you can see that there isn’t really weight support for the seat on that side. The seat is held up using a wooden acute angle L-bracket which appears to be attached to the leg of the table with only two 6d nails!

There should be carriage bolts and additional support contacting the ground, and probably a metal brace given the apparent thinness of the boards.

The other side appears “OK” but I wouldn’t want to use it for tipsy or rowdy adults.

I bought one of the same design from HarborFreight when they stopped carrying them 5 or 10 years ago. It’s a little overdue for refinishing now, but it has held up very nicely. It’s the size of an ordinary picnic table, adequate for 4 adults, but for those of us who are full size, no table is big enough for more than 2 of us. As a park bench, it’s comfortable for 2 or 3 large adults. It’s a clever design, and works well. I might copy it and make an 8 foot long version.

They can fit but I hope they are not feuding as it will be a tight fit.

I’m a full on “Murican” and need a little elbow room when I eat. It’s good if I have a friend or two over. I can put a lawn or folding chair at the end so we all have room.

Got mine today, great item. Extremely light, one person can move it with no problem, but it feels very sturdy, no creaking or flexing. Almost every piece is held together with bolts and washers, with only the bench tops and underbracing using screws…no nails are used. The wood is very soft with a velvet like finish…I wanted to seal it but the finish is really comfortable. I’d definitely recommend it the next time it comes around!
