Happy new year! Where is my glass!
According to the American Cancer Society,
there is no studied medical/health benefits to taking wheatgrass over other vegetables.

Couple questions:
-
Do I have to worry about insects / bacteria when I grow this in my room?
-
Anyone have their own anecdotal story about its health benefits / taste / ability to create fresher scent / etc?
Itās ch-ch-ch-chia for h-h-h-hippies!
No, wait. When I said I wanted a grass growing kit, this is NOT what I had in mind.
Ha! This kind of reminds me of those fake grass things that people in apartments can get for their doggies to go potty on. LOL!
Although it is cheaper⦠Wonder if it would workā¦
Apparently a winery in Florida made a sweet wheatgrass wine in 2007 that won a bronze medal somewhere. Thatās all I got.

A little intro to Wheatgrass, for those wondering:

A friend actually attended this self-proclaimed āinstituteā back in '10. The diet they put him on is so unhealthy he has to take nutritional supplements. After their brainwashing, he thinks this is a good thing.
Yeah after I saw the green grass behind the trays with ālitterā sprinkled in them I new it was something different.
In the box:
(1) Living Whole Foods Hydroponic Wheatgrass Kit
(PLEASE NOTE: Fully-Grown Wheatgrass is NOT Included)
Aww come on guys - Surely you have the warehouse space to get us all started on our first patch of grass?
I see yāall be livinā deep in the matrix. Wheatgrass is the bomb. Anyone considering buying this needs to know a special wheatgrass juicer is required to process the crop because it just wads up in a blender or regular juicer, or a bunch of blades can be chewed like gum/cud. There are manual and electric machines. An ounce or two of juice in the morning before eating, same in the evening for even more of a kick. Be careful if you are new to the healthful lifestyle, go slow on including this, you WILL detoxify, and the bigger the load of matrix material, the sicker you will feel until you offload the sludge.
Yeah⦠I can get organic hydroponic cat grass, which is the same exact thing, for like 1/4 of the price.
Will this hydroponic tray work with other herbs besides wheat grass? Basil? Chives?

Um, really? Is this some sort of pallet cleanser or am I not the only one failing to make the wine connection here?
[/quote]
I donāt have a lot of pallets to cleanse, and I think Pine-Sol would be a better bet there. Pallet-resurfacer might be good. You could then strap the wheatgrass-covered pallets to your roof and voila! you have a green eco-friendly roof!
But, kidding aside, Iām also really not sure why they put a wine cooler on home woot and wheatgrass grower on wine woot.
Looking that that website listed on the first pageā¦
This is the sort of generic statement that alternative health loves. Yet they can never name even ONE toxin or pollutant that (wonder product here) removes or neutralizes that your body doesnāt on its own.
Thatās very, very funny. I might āborrowā that for my comedy act. A friend of mine, on the other hand, attends chemotherapy every other Wednesday and has such excellent results she was told she doesnāt have to worry about anything regards diet and nutrition so can eat anything she wants as it has no effect on her condition. Go figure. The miracle of medical science.

I grew wheatgrass and the manual juicer is almost impossible for a regular gal to use, so figure on spending another $300 for a special wheatgrass juicer!
300⦠reallyā¦
Seem extreme for indoor grass pot.
Wheatgrass is a source of clorophyll. Whether that is important or not is up to you. But to process it you need a juicer that can handle wheat grass (not the cheapies). You could also grow a small indoor garden of parsley, assuming you have a means of introducing it into your diet in a meaningful way. If you were going to grow wheat grass, this is pretty much a one-stop place to get all the pieces for a Wigmore-style setup.
Awesome first w00t! of 2012 - $25 for grass, a mere $700 to turn it into juice!
Iāll stick to my carrot and collard green milkshakes.
