“Supports Micro SD Cards up to 32GB max”? For 4K video, even at a juttery 10fps? Are you going to stop the action to swap cards every five minutes?

Take note of the .MOV format ! PC users will be screaming for an RMA soon as they try to watch the first video!

Can this be used as a wireless IP security cam?

VLC player, as well as most other players can easily handle .MOV files. VLC is a superior player, anyway, and is cross-platform (Linux, Mac, windoze)

Most modern PC’s have the necessary codec to play a .mov just fine. Yes, the size of the movie will be large, but you expect that when recording in 1080/4K.

$58 at Overstock

Not much of a deal. Pretty much the same thing being sold at GearBest dot com for $58.93.

To qualify the above statements:

  1. My Panasonic GH4 will record 1hr 24min onto a 64gb card, h.264 compression (like this one) 29.97fps, 100mbps (variable). So I’m GUESSING a 32gb card will be plenty suitable for this camera recording 4k, 10fps, and likely FAR less that 100mbps.

It’s really the battery life you should worry about for this one.

  1. It records in .mov format, a quicktime native format. Quicktime is licensed by Apple, and they no longer support Quicktime for Windows. As a result, PC sites have recommended completely uninstalling Quicktime from Windows computers. But you can still download VLC player to view the movies. To actually edit them? I’m sure there is conversion software out there if your PC NLE program of choice doesn’t support .mov files.

The specs for the one at Overstock are different (and terrible).

Video: 1920 x 1080p @ 15fps/ 1280 x 720p @ 30fps

Does anyone know if this records looping?

Actually the one at Gearbest is better.

Video Resolution: Interpolation 4K (3840 x 2160) 15fps, 2.7K (2688 x 1520) 30fps, 1080P (1920 x 1080) 60fps / 30fps, 720P (1280 x 720) 120fps / 60fps / 30fps

I bought 2 of these and the boxes have corrective stickers that says the frame rate is
4K fps 25
2.7 K fps 30
Since the description says new I’m guessing there was a typo on the original packaging.
I am glad I pulled the trigger on these. I tried to cancel my order, but couldn’t on a woot-off, now I’m glad I didn’t.

Update: 64GB SDXC Class 10 Micro SD works and capacity over 2 hours @ 4K/25.

Double check this camera when you receive it. Woot ended up sending me the 1080p version. The color was also not the same as the one I ordered…

Uh oh! I’m sorry about that. Have you reported this to customer service? If you haven’t already, please use the Support Form linked at the top of the page to contact customer support for assistance.

Hi, has anyone got problem with this cams to read SD cards? I’ve received mine today and it doesn’t read any of my 32GB class 10 micro sd cards, A-Data, Sandisk. I have a 8GB Kingston sometimes he read that but after I turn it off it won’t work again. Also I can not switch other than 1080 30fps video recording 4K and 1080 60fps options shown in grey in the menu and don’t let me to choose thoose… Is the camera defective? Can someone advise please? Thank you.

I don’t know beans about cameras, but if you feel like your camera is defective please feel free to send me a private message and we’ll see what we can do to help you out.

Have a good night!

I purchased this and I must say stay away. At 4K 25fps, it uses a blocky compression that makes everything look like it went through a bad sharpening filter. When you zoom in on a frame, it is all blocky and doesn’t really feel like 4k. My 1080p Sony Action Camera is far superior at this, even at it’s lowest quality mode.
There appears to be no way to change compression algorithm/quality.
To answer the question before, it does support loop recording.
The picture attached is zoomed in and cropped.

Just got mine and I am seeing the same thing. Did you find a resolution or get a replacement?
