I wish santa would leave me one of these - one of my first purchase from woot was a Roomba Sage Oct 13 2006. BAttery died several years ago but I haven’t been able to replace it -
How well do these things work on a transfer between a hard floor and a shaggy rug? Do they navigate around it, go over it well, or get kind of hung up?
Line of sight isn’t a problem with these things, in my experience. I think battery life would be an issue. I don’t think it could get to all 9 rooms without a recharge. How many square feet is the space? It also depends how “cluttered” the floor is in those rooms. The more stuff the Roomba has to maneuver around, the longer it takes and expends battery/energy.
Been really thinking about getting one of these for a while now, was waiting to see what black Friday had to offer. They’re currently $274 new at Walmart AND Amazon. $30 more for a new unit might be worth the jump to get the full warranty.
We’ve sold Roombas MANY times in the past and have no/few reports of anyone having warranty issues. If you ever have a problem, you can contact Woot’s customer service.
Thanks popang. Don’t really care if it needs to recharge along the way, just wasn’t sure if it would even do it. The house is 2200sq ft but one room would be “off limits” 'cause it’s my wife’s jewelry studio. Just thought it may “forget” where the charging station was if it was out of “sight”
YA, this doesn’t work!!!
I’ve had problems with Merchants taking things back within woots claimed warranty period, example below!
I’m a house flipper and bought a Kingston Brass faucet off of here for $100 something dollars.
The faucet wasn’t functional when installed and I wrote woot and they told me it was Kingston Brass problem so I called Kingston Brass and they told me it was Woots problem, and back and forth 3 times between each merchant and FINALLY Kingston Brass said they would replace it if I either sent it in so they could send me a new one,(could take 4-8 weeks) or I could pay pay the full retail price of $399.99 and when they got my returned faucet back they would refund my money. GIANT pain in the donkey all the way around.
I have bought 2 factory reconditioned Roombas from Woot. The first one didn’t last very long. The second one is going on at least its 2 yr of use and it still going strong. It amazes me that my Roomba collects more dirt than the $500 Dyson. Sweep with Dyson, then with Roomba, and amazing how much more dirt it collects.
