For clarity, these are not LOCKING pliers. Vice-Grip is a trade name used, but they are not what Vice-Grip pliers are usually thought of as locking, or hands free.

“Vise-Grip.” Vice grip would be holding on tightly to one’s bad habits. (Like the bad habit of correcting people’s spelling on the internet, for instance. :D)

That said, I would absolutely jump on this deal if I didn’t already have most of these tools. $53 for this set is a complete steal. Best deal on Woot in a while.

Same here. Irwin is generally reliable in terms of quality. This is a great set for the homeowner or casual mechanic.

Vise-grip set. Doesn’t actually include a pair of vise-grips (Jaw Locking Pliers)…

I’ve been outed!
Thanks for the advise for my vice.
Or is that the other way around?

Picked this set up here on Woot a few weeks back when it was only $49.99. Best deal here I’ve seen in a long time. Amazon currently has them for $82.50 so even at today’s price they are still $30 cheaper than the mother ship. Even better if you already have Prime.

Great tools for a great price! Even if you don’t use them yourself I’d recommend getting a set to give as a gift. People could wish for a different wrench or two in this mix, but this is an excellent general purpose selection of very good quality tools.

No pair of pliers is truly “hands free”! That would make them completely autonomous - and something tells me that when the machines rise up to take over these pliers won’t be playing a major role…

For what it’s worth, when that happens I’m going to be selling out the humans. Hard.
