is the "taxsucks" code still usable?

Texas residents are burdened with paying sales taxes on purchases from Woot! by our horrendous, monstrous state government. To help offset this onerous burden, we were allowed to use a coupon on purchases over $40. This wonderful, extremely praiseworthy coupon code was “taxsucks”. Woe unto us, this coupon seems to have been overlooked in Woot! 2.0. I am sure that this was a a mere oversight and not a slight to us loyal Texas Woot!ers, and I was wondering when this mere slip of attention would be rectified?
Thanks, Stimpy

yes but I think the cost has to be over 40 bucks, I think its over $40

I have seen several people ask this question. But so far, no answer from Woot! Thanks for posting a thread about it, it probably just got lost in the shuffle. [:)]

The TAXSUCKS code still exists. If you meet the requirements, put in TAXSUCKS (all caps for now, though we’re fixing that soon) and it gives you $5 off your order.

The requirements:
a) You have to have Texas as your shipping address
b) Your order has to be over $40. As in, at least $40.01 (including shipping).

Sorry, we can’t give refunds on any prior orders that didn’t get the discount, but you’re welcome to use it on any future purchases.

I apologize for invading your forum up front, but feel this is worth while and will only take 15 seconds away from a chat.

Give the Gift of Site

Please donate any used pair of prescription glasses to help both children and adults that cannot afford clear vision, to see for the first time.

Not asking for money, just one pair (or as many as you can find laying around [h] ) to help people that cannot afford to see.

I will post pictures and stories from the Sonora, MX mission I will be on in September off site to show you what your contributions meant to the people in need.

Please send them to;

Luxottica Retail
Attn: Woody1
4000 Luxottica Place
Mason, OH 45040

I appreciate woot for allowing this to post, and the person with the most pairs sent in by Sept 12th, (nudge factor coming, and send them all together please, so they can be counted) will get a package worth over $500 including a new Home Toshiba DVD Recorder and Dell 5.1 speaker set. This comes out of my pocket; this is just one of many, and I do mean many, charities I try to support.

Missouri ones are burdened now too. The last time I tried, the code seemed like it would work because it alerted me that my total purchase price was below the minimum to use the code.

I am trying to use TAXSUCKS code on home.woot but it is rejecting. Is this not available on home.woot?

You should be good to go now.

i’m trying to use the coupon in a purchase this morning (11AM CST, 2/1/13), and it says the coupon code “didn’t work”.

is it broken? or is it (please don’t break my heart) gone forever?

Broken for NY today, as well.

Add me to the list. I certainly hope that woot!/amazon isn’t abandoning us taxpayers! I’ve already curtailed my amazon shopping since they kowtowed to the goobermints of Texas and started taxing everything sold directly from amazon. I hope I don’t have to put the brakes on woot!ing too.

I see that this has broken before, and trust that woot! will solve the problem swiftly, and give us back our token lagniappe to keep the ol’ woot!ers happy as pigs…

Bump…any info?

it almost seems that since they moved to the $5 all you can ship till midnight central time, they decided to move away from the taxsucks coupon.
