Japanese Hammered 8" Chef's Knife

Does that mean it’s a knife that was made by a Japanese person who was hammered at the time? Is that why there’s dents all over it?

At this price point, they’re probably machine-hammered (or made by a machine that was hammered at the time?). Regardless, the texture is nice as it helps release sliced food from the blade easily.

It is made from VG-10 steel, which is a good stainless steel manufactured in Japan. The knife itself is made in China.

Well, that’s all I needed to know.

Pass.

Not china, taiwan, 2 different countries although technically they’re both chinese.

Taiwan makes better stuff than China, supposedly.

Neither one is Japan, though :stuck_out_tongue:

That being said, I used to own a Zhen knife and the quality wasn’t bad.
