Joseph Joseph 8-pc Nesting Set

Joseph Joseph, because one just isn’t enough.

Here it was in a recent woot

Note: the description says the sieve is not dishwasher safe.

THIS IS IMPORTANT.

If you put it in the dishwasher, the heat will distort the mesh. The result is that, once it’s warped, none of the bowls nest evenly on top of the sieve. So you lose the cool, sleek, streamlined image you see before you.

Twenty bucks for four plastic bowls and four plastic measuring cups? Joseph Joseph must think we’re stupid stupid.

I bought these on Woot a couple months ago. I love em. They are not dishwasher safe but they are very cute and practical in all other ways. Plus the big one has gripper on the bottom so it doesn’t slide around when mixing stuff.

Man are they ever going to carry gardening stuff? And not stupid upside planters that don’t work.

Next up: Kony Kony

ok, I know…

But today’s description says they ARE dishwasher safe, except for the sieve. Does anyone have insight on this? I hate handwashing greasy mixing bowls and measuring cups.

I’ve had no problem washing the rest of the bowls. It’s the sieve that’s the troublemaker. The rest is reasonably thick plastic.

I have this set from a previous Woot-off. In fact, I just finished washing the large aqua bowl from making the blackberry filling for a cobbler (NO stains in the bowl). The bowls are a little flimsy (I was expecting a slightly sturdier plastic).

The wire in the sifter/sieve piece is stainless steel, HOWEVER the wire on both sets I ordered arrived all bent up. Not that big a deal, but the bent/warped wire mesh just didn’t look very attractive.

The instructions for the bowls clearly state HAND WASH ONLY.

Another complaint about these bowls is that the inset on the small measuring cup pieces makes it so that you can’t run a knife across the top of a measuring cup to make an accurate cup.

They are a bit on the flimsy side but I am generally satistifed with them. I’m still slightly annoyed about the wire in the sieve being bent up though.

I’ve almost bought this several times, basically whenever I have seen it up. But it just looks so cheap I can’t bring myself to do it.

You can never have enough mixing bowls but, just not these. Put up some nicer quality mixing bowls and I’ll be all over them.

I don’t need these.

Must…resist…the pretty…

I can vouch for your suspicions-- you are correct. They are cheap./ But they also are cute, colorful, and nesting. For the price its not bad, but def not premium.

I know that if I buy them, the day the box arrives will be the last time they are nested.

Agreed. Looks like an Ikea item to me.

I bought these the last time they were on Woot. It’s a good, nifty set. My roommate however, did dishwash one of the other bowls. Apparently it was on the bottom rack, near the heating element, and the bowl warped.

Just a heads up to those of you purchasing/have purchased it. It’s still a quality product, just take precautionary measures!

I want theses… because its my name… Twice!!! but I don’t realy want them so no

Tardy to the party, but in case these come up again:

Sizes are NOT standard US, but Imperial–stuff is slightly larger. Look carefully.
