You can buy these brand new for only $50 more at Wal-Mart. If it was a digital camcorder i’d take a chance on a refurb, but to much a risk with a VHS cam.

ha you expect hd under 200? you cant get hd currently for under 5,000. sony has one out, and canon is coming out with one soon.

Now, this is a good camera and you do NOT need DV if you are just taking home movies. VHS-C sold enough over its lifespan to keep the format in stock for many years to come.

With plasma, LCD, extended def and Hi-def TV becoming ubiquitous, analog is dead. It just doesn’t measure up to even the low-end digital. That said, this is a sweet deal on a camcorder
Good deal or not, there is no way I would buy a non-digital camera! It’s too much hassle if you want to do any editing. I’ve always hated VHS-C also!
You can record obsolete tapes with this refurbished beauty and then transfer them do DVDs using your computer. Wow! It’s like moving from the 20-th century straight into the 21-st.
