Kershaw Folding Knife

AMAZING knives, bought several the last time they were offered . . . one GREAT feature I love about these knives, if you send them back to the factory (for only a few dollars) they are returned to you cleaned up with a perfect factory fresh edge sharpened professionally by Kershaw - for FREE - for as long as you own the knife. Many people can’t get a “good as new” edge on a knife - and these are wonderfully (if not dangerously) sharp straight out of the box. If you want a lifetime replacement warranty with FREE sharpening, this is a winner!

Kershaw makes great knives even their lower end items are good.

I love mine, but really Woot, $3 cheaper only two months after I bought mine from you guys???

Same price as a couple weeks ago . . .

wish the blades were switched. Like the handle of one and the blade on the other…

Broken a lot of these , not a bad price though. A far cry from Benchmade quality

I refuse to pay for knife made out of chinese steel. Doubly so since many of kershaw’s other blades use american or scandinavian steels. Sorry woot, no deal on this one.

An excellent value ! At this price, it’s one for the glove box, one for the tackle box, and one for the desk drawer !

Too bad they have combo edges. I’d probably get them both if they were straight.

Combophobe!

Huge bang for the buck here. Definitely a good buy.

Personally, I prefer the combo edge. The straight edge in front is perfect for whittling, and the serrations are great for cutting rope or fruit.

Now I feel like a dope for buying one when they were $12 a few weeks back. Especially since I don’t use it every day or anything…just bought it so I’d have a knife around if I needed one, or if a camping trip came up this summer.

You know I was thinking of getting one of these knives the next time they came up on Woot, just to have a semi decent knife when I needed it. Then literally a couple hours ago when I was walking my dog I found a Benchmade 555 lying on the pavement. :open_mouth: Looks like I don’t need to buy a new knife after all!

got the asset during the woot! b-day sale…havent had much chance to do anything other than play with it so far but feels real solid and is SCARY sharp. Good stuff!

I’m all for high-quality American, German or Japanese made knives and usually go out of my way to get them (let’s just say I have a couple knives around) and bought a few of these several weeks back for gifts and as a glove-box knife.

I was really surprised at how solid the knife was (I kept the Asset) for $12. When I saw them again with the combo edge, I ordered 3 more. Take it from a borderline anti-chinese product snob, these are excellent knives for the price.

I own 1 serrated and 3 plain edge versions of these knives.

The serrated knives are nearly useless.

The 8cr13mov steel used in kershaw blades takes hair splitting edge, but the edge retention suffers. This steel characteristic, combined with the difficulty in sharpening serrated knives, makes for a bad combination.

Charge 3 dollars more, and bring back the plain edges.

I’ve been looking at getting my 8 & 10 year old sons their first knives. Looking in my local department stores, even the throw-away junk knives are costing more than these knives.

Am I asking for trouble getting them these knives? (and one for myself, of course!) I wonder if I should start them out with some 2" bladed pocket-poker instead, to wait-out the inevitable ‘Oh crap, I cut myself’ learning curve?

I have both of them. These are excellent quality knives and a real bargain at this price. You’ll pay twice as much elsewhere.
