Just as an FYI, I would have picked the Q10 over the Q8 anyway just because I prefer a 75% layout, however the other issue I have with the Q8 is the length & placement of the right space bar, which is the only side I use. The left end of the right space bar on the Q8 is even with the “n” key with the “fn2” key next to it on the left. However on the Q10, the right space bar extends beyond the “n” key, ending below the additional “b” key. Instead of curling, or having to curl, my right thumb inward to hit the space bar I have a tendency to keep a relaxed thumb (almost splayed outward) and found I would end up constantly hitting the “fn2” key on my friend’s Q8. May not be a problem for many/most, but it proved a game changer for me, so I thought I would make mention of it for anyone who may not have had a chance to try before they buy.
Update: Just noticed this “Carbon Black -B” colorway with Blue switches is currently sold out/unavailable on Keychron website. The other switch types are available. Luckily the Blue switches (my preference) were available here. The high initial force on a tactile switch greatly reduces my mis-strikes while typing.
Update 2: It’s 3 pm EST and my previous update is no longer valid because the Blue switch Sold Out on the Black version. Now only available on the grey version.
Last update: WOW! I placed my order (black w/blue switches) earlier today and just received email saying it shipped and will be delivered tomorrow, Monday! Outstanding!
