What is the difference between new and new -1?

The new version for the switch 2 requires the upgrade pack if you buy the switch 1 version… So you can buy this and then buy the upgrade pack when it comes out on switch 2… You can use the physical switch 1 games cartages on the switch 2.
Also keep in mind, all switch games are region free.
