Overstock Reviews

Since it always comes up:
This has the 325-watt motor.

I think you will find the KSM500 series is 450 watt

Good lord! Can’t we ever get closure! Overstock and Ebay list this as 450! Woot lists it at 325! Doesn’t anyone have a definitive answer! Cause I mean, a difference of 125 watts could ruin your bread!

Oh the humanity!

If you zoom in on the photos, you’ll see it says

Max watts 325

On the side, near the back.

I bought one of these in December. Last week, no matter what speed I chose it ran at the lowest speed for about 5-8 seconds and shut off.

Craptastic! Caveat emptor!

If it was new like this one, you have a one year warranty with KitchenAid. Be sure to contact them for assistance.

KitchenAid is great when it comes to warranty issues. We had a problem with a coffeemaker a while back, and they sent a replacement right away, no questions. They also sent a return label for the defective one.

ebay is $184

hi ho and away silver

After scouring the internet to make sure I was getting the best deal, I ordered one of these bad boys. It shipped fast and arrived just as glorious as described. I went with Shiny… I mean Silver. Since its arrival, I’ve made 3 cakes, 2 different batches of cookies, and a cheesecake. I was so excited to be adding this tool to my kitchen arsenal that I’ve been putting it through its paces. From gentle stuff like whipping egg whites to the hardcore such as cranking through a triple recipe sized batch of cookie dough, my mixer hasn’t missed a beat.

Yes, they make them bigger (6QT) and more powerful (425 watt motor), but I’d say this particular model is tough enough for anything a dedicated amateur or even a fledgling professional might put it through.

Thank you, Woot!!
