Do these have the metal or the plastic gear box housing?
I’ve always heard the ones that tilt up have plastic while the ones that crank up are metal. So I assume these have the metal insides.
Does this mixer come with a splash guard like shown in the picture?
Mine did not.
Also, be advised they only come with a six month warranty. Mine crapped out at 5 months 2 weeks. Fortunately, KitchenAid customer service is a dream to deal with!
Huh? The description says 1 year warranty from Kitchenaid. I picked this up last time it was here. These are new, not refurbs. They come with the plastic splash guard, but the paddles are ‘burnished’ instead of the non-stick coated white ones. Not a big deal. This is a heavy duty machine that outclasses the tilt head I passed on to my daughter when I got this (red!). It’s more powerful. It’s quieter. It holds and mixes more. And I’ll give it up when they have to pry it from my cold, dead hands. Or something like that…
325 watts is underpowered in the 5 qt size - need the true pro model w/ 525 watt motor.
6 Months is what the KitchenAid c/s told me when I called.
Late answer but here’s info from the vendor: It comes with the pouring shield, has metal gears, and a 1 year warranty.
