I have one of these… it’s nothing to make you do flips or anything, but definitely serves it’s purpose.

Anyone got a youtube video made from one of these?

The only thing that this is missing is optical zoom.

Besides that, it’s a nice quasi-hd camcorder.

Mindless Automata, here’s better, it’s showing off various contrast and different light situations.

The newer model is waterproof but is nearly 3x the price

I bet these would work well with one of those mini tripods they sometimes put up here. I may have to grab one. I’ve been looking to get a new camera/camcorder combo ever since my old camera broke. I’ve been using my 1 MP phone since then.

Does it do stills too? I suppose if you have a big beefy SD card for all that 720p glory and don’t mind the girlie colors, for 50 bucks it seems like a very solid deal.

I bought one of these last time - the video I shot was good, and looked great on my 1080p TV! Got another one so I can give it as a gift.

An oddity for these little pocket video cameras, a remote control is available for only $10.

Well, if you thought Avatar was good, but you could have done better, you can use two of these to make your OWN 3D movie!

That is pretty impressive. Too bad its impractical for most of us though. :frowning:

The IP43 rating deconstructed…

A big wig said the same thing to a young James Cameron. And guess who’s cleaning who’s toilets now! But seriously, now it’s only $105 to make a 3D movie!

Are there any underwater housing for this camcorder suitable for scuba diving to 130’?

edit: nevermind, answered my own question. http://www.ikelite.com/web_two/kodak_zx1.html

Apparently it does. Description says:

Still format: JPEG
Image quality: 3 MP (stills, interpolated)
