Flood is a wide beam for close up and spot is narrow beam for distance viewing. So do you want to see in front of you or down the road?
I wonder if the 32 inch setup is a bit too much for my john deer d110? Sure would kick ARSE to mow at 11 pm wearing my Bluetooth headphones rockin’ to Metallica! Hmmm…
Pretty sure it’ll power it! I agree! Would be awesome for some night trimming!

Flood light is the type of light you want to use when searching for someone in a flood, thus your light would be a focused spot.
Spot light would be if you want to be spotted, thus the light would flood as wide as possible so people from all direction could see your light.
The one you want to mount on your car/truck would be based on your need, according to the above scenario.
I’ve always felt that a Flood Light is to FLOOD the area with light; while a “spot light” is to locate someone, with ability to change positions; such as in a police car with a “spot Light” with hand grip for moving about to search for the “perp”.

This is correct and LilWang is incorrect. Flood lights flood the whole immediate area with light. Spot lights light up a smaller spot but can reach out much further.

As you can see in my explanation, I had both terms inserted in explanation of each. You can take the meaning whichever way you want.
