Can the memory be expanded with a SD CARD?

Also, will it work with Metro PCS?

Watch out, not compatible with CDMA carriers
Not compatible with CDMA carriers including Verizon, Sprint, or Boost Mobile
So if yours is one of the listed ones or uses one of their networks this phone wont work.
It seems a LOT of the unlocked cheap phones don’t support CDMA so keep that in mind when looking for a deal.

from MetroPCS website:
MetroPCS provides nationwide talk, text, and data depending on the plan services using GSM, HSPA, HSPA+ and 4G LTE networks.

specs for LeEco say any GSM sim card…so as long as you don’t have CDMA I would say this phone will work with metro PCS.

Looks like no on the SD card.

It’s unlocked for GSM. I’m not sure what Metro PCS is.

anyone have experience with Ting?

you buy a sim card from them and then it is $6 per line and then you pay for only the minutes/texts/data you actually use instead of a “plan” for a predetermined amount each month. sounds like a good deal IF they have decent coverage.

Did I see the specs right … no 3.5 mm headphone jack??? Damn. I need a new phone, but that’s a non-starter.

per specs page (what’s in the box):
•Type-C 3.5mm Adaptor
and CDLA earphones

Part of the confusion is CDMA carriers like Verizon will also use GSM for their 4g networks, but NOT for their 3g network.

I think metro pcs runs on the tmobile network.

Especially the part about the headphone jack; it uses a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter.

Does it have Nougat (Android 7)? I have a Moto X Pure and Lenovo refuses to release the Nougat upgrade though they promised it. Don’t buy anything Lenovo!

Motorola has been making some of the better midrange phones as of late. Nougat is starting to roll out for the MXP now though. Lenovo also makes some of the best enterprise laptops. Don’t swear off a company just because one device didn’t get an update yet.

I’ve been with Ting since 2012 or so. If you watch your data usage, you can save a lot of money. My wife and I routinely see bills in the $50-$70 range, depending on how careful I am about using wifi.

To answer the coverage question - Ting’s CDMA side uses Sprint towers, and Ting’s GSM side uses T-Mobile towers. Make your decision(s) accordingly.

This was an okay device overall. Unfortunately the company hit the US market too rigorously and are now in financial trouble. This may mean no support or updates.

No Nougat, it is running on a version of Android 6, and due to the financial stretch of the company mentioned above, any updates may be slow in coming, if they come at all. Nevertheless, the hardware specs on this phone are incredible value for the $$$, and if you are adventurous, you can root it and install a custom ROM. I have one. Great phone. Nicely build, good reception. The one I have has space for 2 sim cards or a sim card and a micro SD. The is no headset jack, but it comes with a USB-C to 3.5mm stereo adapter.
The version I have works also with CDMA carriers, but this one doesn’t.
For the price is a great phone.
