These Lenovo T420s are tanks. We have them at work, and the sales force beats the crap out of them, and they still keep going.
I have had a number of Lenovo laptops over the years, IBM and post IBM. I swear by them, not at them. While this is not a high power, great graphics kind of machine, it will be a work horse for years. Getting 2 for my kids.
I, likewise, have been using a T420 as my daily machine for several years. It’s been very reliable. Though, I’d rather have a higher resolution screen than what’s offered here. But if you’re planning on using it docked (and the desk dock is GREAT!) then that wouldn’t matter as much.
Looking for laptop for son’s last year of college. Either this one or the Dell E4310 13.3" Intel 128GB SSD Laptop on the Woot computer site look adequate for his needs. Any advice re pros or cons of these two appreciated.
No webcam so NSA can’t watch you in your bedroom.
Pricing not bad; however if you miss this, a certain river site has them most of the time for under $300 with better specs.
Just purchased one. Looking to upgrade RAM. Does anyone know if the 4 gb that comes with the laptop is a single 4 gb stick, or is the 4 gb split over two 2 gb sticks?
The reason I ask is because I’d like to just order a single 4 gb stick to bring total RAM up to 8 gb, and not 6 gb (if I have to use one of the 2 gb that may come with it).
