Another narrow-minded Trump supporter throwing a temper tantrum. Someone has different views than you…so what? Are you seriously upset because everyone doesn’t think EXACTLY like you? Please leave, we don’t need narrow minded people like you around here being toxic to the community because they can’t accept that people are allowed to have their own beliefs.

Also, to everyone else…will this computer run games like World of Warcraft, Overwatch, and World of Tanks?

Thanks in advance!

Now THAT’S a quality post!

I don’t know for sure about the answer to your question, but with an i7 processor, 8gb RAM, an SSD drive and Intel 4400 graphics processor it should be able to play most games. But without a dedicated graphics adapter probably not at the games highest settings for graphics performance.

Is this the one with the wonky touch pad?

For those looking for benchmarks:
PassMark CPU Scorefor Core i7-4600U: 4106
PassMark GPU Score for Intel HD 4400: 563

Accroding to Notebookcheck.net, the Intel Core i7-4600U CPU is an ULV (ultra low voltage) dual-core processor for ultrabooks launched in Q3 2013, meaning it’s a 15W CPU. Expect decent performance in everyday productivity tasks. Click the link above for more details and benchmarks.

Also from Notebookcheck.net, the integrated Intel HD 4400 graphics features 20 Execution Units clocked at 200 MHz, with boost up to 1.1 GHz. You can expect to play e-sports titles like Overwatch, World of Tanks & World of Warships at 30-40FPS @ 720p Low settings. Less demanding titles, like Rocket League, World of Warcraft, or older AAA releases, can achieve 60 FPS @ 720p Low settings. In other words, don’t plan on this machine being your main gaming rig.

Here’s a video of the Intel HD 4400 playing overwatch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXCWEsJcVMk

In short, if you drop res down to 720p, and render scale to 50% – you’ll get 30-40 fps in heavy fights (mind you, 50% render scale on 720p doesn’t look pretty at all)

I bought a similarly spec’d Lenovo refurb and I would not buy again. Mine is an ultrabook (https://www.woot.com/offers/lenovo-x1-carbon-14-intel-i7-ultrabook-15). The touchpad is very unreliable - “wonky” does not properly describe it crappiness. Also the coating on the keys is a mess and it was shorting out within a couple months.

Anyone know if this laptop uses eDP to connect with the lcd display? I’m trying to replace an aging phenom laptop, but most newer gear uses eDP which doesn’t support Media Center’s DHCP standard.

Anyone know what the most recent option would be to avoid a eDP laptop?

Does the CPU get hot enough to melt a snowflake? Asking for a friend…

It lists: 4th Generation Intel Core i7 Processor. Isn’t this a pretty old one? I was thinking i saw something about 8th generation. is there a big difference? I read the previous posts, but I’m not trained to understand the differences.

For 450 bucks you can find newer laptops with better specs. And for 200 bucks less you can find laptops with a little bit worse specs especially if you are willing to spend 20 minutes putting in a new harddrive and adding memory. Not much of a deal unless you have some reason to really want a 4 year old Thinkpad.

Almost exactly what I logged in to say. This machine as configured is a bit long in the tooth for the price. They will snag enough unaware buyers.

It isn’t just Trump supporters so you should have probably said…

-Another narrow-minded American throwing a temper tantrum.

If you fart in the middle of the Mohave you offend someone in America. It is both Democrats and Republicans that believe their way is the only way. If Americans want to claim to have the best system in the world then they should get over it when their party loses and be the best Country in the world and support the winner. After all, our best system in the world just elected a President so it seems Dems are the ones at this point in time that need to get over it and accept the outcome or is “America has the best system in the world” just a catch phrase when the Dems lose the election?
