I love these things. I have purchased 6 of these for my family over the past few years. They have survived middle school and high school backpacks, teenage Minecraft sessions, teaching graduate school classes, and my wife’s satchel. I have a son who uses a power wheelchair to get around, and this is his go-to machine for taking notes in college classes–at Cornell. We even bought him a spare for while he is away at college. The adaptive technology consultant recommended a full-on i7, 16 GB RAM Surface Pro, but there is no way we could afford that and a spare.
Get this, install an 8 GB RAM SODIMM, and buy a Lenovo Active pan. Voila: Surface-type functionality at a fraction of the cost, and a whole lot more accident-proof. It is a little heavy, but it is rugged and it just works.
