LG UBKC90 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray Player

LG UBKC90 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray Player

Anybody know if this can be made region free for Blu Rays and DVD’s?

I don’t have this player myself so can’t confirm these, but a quick trawl of the usual sites gave me mentions of using the “MontBlanc” method on a CDRW, and a possibility of a simpler remote-based de-regioning method too. FWIW the UBKC90 is the same as the more common UBK90 (C = Costco apparently), so you’ll find these hits under the more common model name.

Thanks!

I have a similar LG 4k Blu-ray player that I bought new from Best Buy. I bought it because LG has the best support for playing media from USB. I can load almost any media onto a thumb drive and play it. I mainly play MKVs. Can’t get the 4k MKVs to work, but 1080s work great.

If you have a 4K Roku, I highly recommend that. I use it to play my 4K MKVs and it does a great job. It does not seem to play 3D movies unfortunately (only outpuits 1080Pp not 1080i). Maybe someone knows more about this and can get 3D to work on there also.

Received mine this week and set it up today. Drive tray won’t extend all the way out and sometimes gets stuck in an open/close loop. I tried getting a Blu-ray in only to have it get stuck in the drive. Had a tough time getting it back out. The refurb language was stuck on Italian, too. Had to do a factory reset. Not too thrilled with this experience so far. Will be interesting to see how woot CS handles!
