Going to guess these are Costco buyers remorse returns like the Yamahas sold here on WOOT!. But unlike the manufacturer refurb with 1-year Yamaha warranty, apparently these were “wiped clean of fingerprints” by an unknown entity and have a 90-day WOOT! warranty.
Finding warehouse club deals on DVD players is quickly becoming a thing of the past. Our Sams clubs carry no DVD players.
This is the only DVD player available at our local Costcos. In typical Costco fashion, it is a top of the line model. It is highly rated. Costco initially sold it for $199 but currently sells it for $149. Last time I checked, Best Buy was selling it for something like $279.
We bought one primarily as a backup since we still have a big DVD collection that we kept for our off-grid cabin.
I’ll add that Costco very briefly sold it for $139 over the holidays.
