Anyone know exactly which model number this is? The unlocked 405QA or is it one of the carrier specific models that’s just been unlocked?
I received a V405UA model, unlocked and with a Sprint startup screen. Firmware was V405U20f. MMS and Wifi calling did not work with TMO. I flashed it with firmware for the unlocked US version V405QA7. Both MMS and wifi calling now work OK. It also supports bands 66 and 71. Firmware version I used is the Android 9 version from 30 Jan 2020, V405QA720e
How did you do this? Mine does the same thing. No text unless I’m on wifi. Verizon saw the Sprint on my startup screen and will not help. Thanks.
I followed the instructions here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80661165&postcount=10
But the file links there did not work. I used these files:
lgup_cmd.exe and LGUP_command.dll (1.17) : https://www.mylgphones.com/download-lg-up-software
V405QA firmware (towards middle of page): https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-lmv405qa-firmwares/
One issue: the com3 in the example command line should just be the number 3, not com3.
Before getting it to work I installed LGUP 1.15 … from this site: https://www.mylgphones.com/how-to-flash-stock-pie-kdz-firmware-on-lg-v40-thinq-with-lgup.html
Then I copied lgup_cmd.exe to C:\Program Files (x86)\LG Electronics\LGUP. ( and LGUP_command.dll to the folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\LG, but that is in the instructions)
Warning: reprogramming the flash is not a risk free procedure. It is one of those " at your own risk" things
