Good reviews from Northern Tool

I just bought this last night for $10 more (and that was with a coupon code). smh.

edit: Scratch that - I got a bigger/better model. I feel better about myself now. Thanks Woot!

Where’s the wonderful sales map? I want to overlay that with a map of tonights record lows in the midwest and see how it impacts sales.

So far…California! lolwut?

•Tip Oer Safety Switch
•2 Power Settings
•1 Heat Setting: 1000 w
•Child Lock Safety
•12 hour Programmable
One heat setting (1000W) but 2 power settings??

Cold snap in California seems to be spiking sales.

@Woot Staff:

You might want to correct the first word in your Features description.

“Inferred Technology provides natural heat. The innovative infrared heating technology provides natural heat like the sun without UV radiation. Long lasting infrared wavelengths heat gently and don’t dry out the hair so you’re surrounded with cozy comfort.”

Just sayin.

[MOD EDIT: Edited the typo. Thanks for the heads up]

heat, fan only?

  1. On
  2. Off

•2 Power Settings
•1 Heat Setting: 1000 w

I’m still confused about this.

“Infrared Technology provides natural heat. The innovative infrared heating technology provides natural heat like the sun without UV radiation. Long lasting infrared wavelengths heat gently and don’t dry out the hair so …”

So, I’ll want to dry my hair before I sit near this, huh?

I just bought this at Meijer for the exact same price right after Christmas. They originally listed this product at $79.

I did not know what the “two heat settings” was and I still don’t know.

The main feature seems to be the timer. You can set it to turn off in one hour increments. That’s nice.

Unfortunately, it does not heat up any more quickly than the oil-filled radiator that I have. Both take a while to heat up an area. The advantage of this LifePro heater is the case that surrounds the heater, which doesn’t get very hot at all. I’m not too concerned if my three-year-old is near it.

What weasel-word copywriter came up with “natural heat?” As opposed to unnatural heat?

There is so much nonsense about IR heaters, it’s disgusting.

I bought a better one on Woot late last year and it works OK and LOOKS NICER than many. But it’s a heater, so get over it.

I once had a (dumb) consumer tell me that their quartz-rod heater “only heated people, not inanimate objects.”

This is why we need more science taught in high schools, as well as better classes on writing.

I have a similar model. Looks a little different and allows you to set a temperature. It is a little big but has wheels and moves easily.

Does not do a great job heating up a small/medium room (17x16) and the fan is pretty noisy that pushes the air across the toaster oven elements. It will help just isn’t great. Very similar in volume to a summer fan (not a big box fan more like an oscillating fan).

I’m in the Philly area for weather type.

YMMV

You might want to edit the typo “hair” as well. I think you mean it won’t dry out the air.

I’d be happy if it didn’t dry out my hair too.

Fixed.

Does this have a fan? Anyone know how loud it is?

I liked it better the first way!
