BEWARE! BEWARE! BEWARE!
I purchased this last time (same price just a few weeks ago) and figured I could just make sure I did not have too many other things on the same circuit, but the instructions very clearly warn to be sure that NOTHING else is on the same line. Who has an extra breaker that has only one vacant plug waiting for something like this to be used? NOT ME or anyone else I know… I cannot even give it away at this point!

It doesn’t look THAT big.

Why do people keep posting this??? It’s a 1500 watt heater… How much power do you think you can run through one line??? This is totally standard of any 1500 watt heater. They are just nice enough to spell it out for the ignorant folks that didn’t already know this.

It’s 1500 watts on high, and ~800 on low. No worse than a hair dryer, and same as most electric heaters on high. I plan to run mine only on low.

I wanted this for the thermostat and the remote control.

The fan is kind of loud, and the sound is not steady. Not great for the bedroom, which was my intended use. Hasn’t been cold enough to test yet, though, really. If it’s too loud, I will go back to my silent oil-filled radiant heater.

Anybody have any opinions about the safety of this? I want one for a bedroom and am always nervous about running them while we sleep.

There are plenty of ‘ignorant’ folk that’s useful info for.

Got one of these refurb units last go around and it came with one broken and missing wheel and no remote. So approach this “deal” with a little caution. Unit works fine but the missing remote and broken wheel bummed me out man.

YIKES! That’s not right. Did you email support@woot.com for assistance?

Nope, I thought all woot goods were as is where is unless ups or USPS destroyed it in transit.

I also got one of these on the last go round. Mine was complete, looks like new and works perfectly. As has been said, the fan is a little noisier than I expected, but it’s not terribly intrusive where I use it in my home office. It’s basically just white noise anyway. I just click the TV up a notch. It has the added benefit of drowning out my wife a bit.

Dave

Mine was broken right out of the box, I contacted woot support and I returned it for a credit. I have yet to see the credit bu they told me I would get one.

If you sent back in your defective product, I would allow at least 7-10 business days for the RMA to refund your account (this also depends on your banking institution).
I would recommend that you email into support@woot.com if you don’t receive your refund by then.
They’ll be able to answer any questions or concerns you might have.

Thank you for you ongoing patience while the RMA dept settles your return.

got mine today, color was not the dark brown as shown in the picture…

This was a horrible deal. The item I received did not heat up to 1500 square feet. It stated in the manual up to 1000 square feet, but it recommended much lower. 800 I think. Either way, it arrived broken as well. One wheel snapped off either in packing or shipping. Woot gave me a $10 refund for this issue. However the fan became increasingly loud over the next month or so. I was concerned that the item would not last long at all. Add that to the fact that it was misrepresented as a 1500 sq ft heater. I sent it back after contacting Woot within the 90 days of warranty. I received an e-mail on Feb 15th, 2014 that they received my return and would expect it to be “processed” within 7 to 10 business days. It is now March 13, 2014 and I have not had any communication from Woot regarding this return. Sad to say, but customer service with Woot has been horrible.

McJoshvitt: I am EXTREMELY sorry for the delay. I’ll let CS know so they can look into it.
