I am an ER doctor. I deal with dehydrated people all the time. This effectively packages the World Health Organization (WHO) oral rehydration formula, which is sugary water with salt, into a very expensive package. You could effectively drink A sugary juice or a soda with a handful of salty chips or peanuts. That would activate the same sodium pumps in the gut which supercharges electrolyte and water absorption.
As an ER doctor what are your thoughts on Body Armor drinks?
As a psychiatrist I can tell you that all these hydration drinks are exactly what the ER doc said, literally sugar water with sodium and potassium added to it, nothing special. This one has some B vitamins thrown in which still doesnt even come close to justifying the cost as you can just buy a vitamin B complex for cheap. Honestly the vast majority of people get enough vitamins in their diet except for Vitamin D which is worth getting checked out as many people are low and this can contribute to low mood and energy. The only other thing ill add is that these drinks subconsciously remind you of when your mother used to bring you a gatorade after soccer practice and you want to sleep with her.
