Logitech G7 Laser Cordless Gaming Mouse

It didnt come with a charger? I thought the charger and the USB connection were one and the same with this unit.
Also, I got my battery I ordered from that link above from seller on ebay. Now all I need is the mouse.

I wonder why UPS is taking this long to deliver. I get shipments for Ca ( where it drop shipped from) all the time, economy rate and it takes 5 days u sually, not 14.

Oh well, heres a toast to all of us waiting till thursday for it to show up/

I purchased 3 mice in all. I received a battery, a USB dongle and a charger for each. Unfortunately, none of them work correct. 2 of the mice refuse to work period (tested with all hardware)! The 3rd mice doesn’t stay powered on unless I hold the battery in. When I hold in the battery it works fine. sigh

Ordered 2 mice. One of them seems great and is charging so im sure it works fine not entirely sure yet, however the other mouse is seriously SCORCHED!! BURN MARKS AND SMELLS LIKE CIGARS AND DOESNT EVEN WORK! See Picture!

I would like to add! NIETHER of the TWO MICE I BOUGHT WORK!! IM VERY SAD!!

I bought 2 and neither one work. tried on 4 comps. $75 worth of crap. With or without software. i can plug in the dongle and it sees a g7, it wont move though.

this is the first thing i bought on w00t. if it is defective, do they take it back?

Send am email to rma@woot.com with all the info, they issued me an RMA# already and its being sent back to them today via UPS. Make sure you include tracking that way you can tell em its there and everything.

ify ou dont mind me asking, how much did it cost to send back ups?

I’ve got the same issue with mine… doesn’t respond at all to movements… I’ve got a g7 at home, so I’ll check to see if it might be the USB wireless connection device on top of the charger tonight at home…

What a shame too because the back button is better on this one than the one at home. :frowning:

Wow, after reading all the posts, I am starting to get worried. Mine didn’t come with the usb receiver, but the guys at woot are having one sent to me. The thing that worries me, though, is that I am not sure if my charger is working. I plugged it into a usb port, but no hardware was found and nothing on the charger lights up. Could someone please compare this to how their charger works… thanks.

Well i have a NEW one that i purchase from Amazon w/ $50 Logitech rebate 2 months ago (so i paid $14 for my G7)…

The reciever is suppose to light up and Windows auto dectec your mouse and you can use it right away.

I heard that Logitech is making a better version of the G7… its goning to be G8 mouse… with standard AA recharagable batteries.

It DOES come with a USB dongle, if you didn’t receive one contact woot and let them know!

On another note, I received mine. It’s all cool & sleek-like, except for one odd factor…

Even after charging the battery up for 4 hours, when I put it into the mouse it doesn’t power up - unless I give the battery a slight push forward in it’s little slot, then it powers the mouse… but the instant I let go, it shuts itself off. I think there is a problem with the springs inside, but is there any way to fix this without me sending it back to woot for a replacement?

anyone here even get a working one? i got 2 and none of them are connecting.

My mouse charges, turns on, gets connected to windows, but the mouse dosnt respond to movements… Whats going on here?

Edit i found a little program with the mouse that is supposed to connect the dongle to the mouse. I think its under start>logitech>setpoint? It says to turn on the mouse, hold down the left mouse button while pushing the right button five times. I thought that maybe it was going to work, but to no avail. It might be something some of you might want to try if you havnt already.

Looks like woot needs to have a chat with Logitech. Seems like they shipped us all their trash.

Finally received mine today and, surprise, it does not work. Will not connect to the receiver. Luckily I only bought one of these things!

The manual is worthless.

I sent woot an email message earlier requesting an RMA (i included the order number). Unfortunately, I’ve yet to hear anything from them. A good friend of mine purchased two of these from Woot as well. Neither of them work.

If you plug in the charger without a receiver it will not be detected. It is probably just tapping off the power output on your computer’s USB port and passing the whole thing through to the USB port on the charger (for the receiver). When you plug a receiver into the charger the computer should detect it.

If you put the battery in the charger with the charger plugged in to a USB port, does the green LED light on it? It should flash when the battery is charging, fast for boost mode and slower for normal mode.

My charger works fine, the receiver is detected by my computer, but the mouse is not detected.

One of mine does the exact same thing. I looked inside and compared it to the others. It appears the pins that make contact with the battery are pushed back slightly further than the others (that work, er. sorta). Also, the mouse rattles slightly with the battery removed. Unless you open up the mouse, I don’t think it can be fixed easily…

Well, after putting the battery back in to charge and waiting for it to go solid green, the mouse works perfect now. Guess it just needed a good charging up.

Haven’t had any more issues with it, so I would suggest those whose batteries aren’t working right do what I did, reach in with a paper clip that has been straightened out, then the tip (less than 1/8th of an inch) bent into an L shape, reach under each one of the three springs and pull them out (not gently, but not too hard either) - and then the battery makes a strong contact with those springs.

Didn’t have an issue with the connector/dongle combo, I pulled the connector in first, then put the dongle into the connector after it registered the connector itself as a new USB device.

Guess I’m one of the lucky ones… or perhaps the ONLY lucky one so far! :-?

Atleast none of you got a toasted one like I did!!! :frowning:

Battery charges both mice are recognized however one does not move (toasted one) and the other one doesn’t respond. I already bought two batteries on ebay so I went ahead and bought the mouse from newegg.com much more expensive but guaranteed to work
