woot! popped my woot cherry!
$30 for a new one over $25 from an ebay refurb…i take my chances with the former.
The sound quality is great for its price factoring in how compact and easy to carry it is.

1.24" (2.5cm) ??? Engineer?
1.24" (inches). The double quotation mark " stands for inches and the single ’ for feet.
From Woot Description, "Operates with AC adapter (included) or four AA batteries (not included). " Hmmmm. Maybe the answer is there somewhere. I never thought to read it.
OK - now I’m confused. This is now the second item I’ve purchased from Woot and I’ve read a few post that state Woot items are refurbs. I didn’t see anything in either items description that the items were refurbs; I purchased the Logitech speakers today and the Roomba Dirt Dog for my garage. Any advise would be helpful. thanks
Logitech mm28 Flat Panel Portable Speakers
$29.99
They are new. You need to look under the item name to where it says “condition:”. If it is new then it says “new” or if it is a refurb it is says…
(The DirtDog was also new)
Refurb items are a joke. I used to test some items that were put on refurb, I would NOT trust them. Don’t get me wrong, we made sure they worked fine but the whole process turned me off from refurbs.
My first woot!
I won’t get to see it for about a month though, having it shipped to the boyfriend back home.
Moving to an apartment together soon, should come in useful.
Will soon be looking for an HDTV to furnish the apartment
I love you woot.
These speakers are from a company called “NXT Technologies” and just have the Logitech logo slapped on them. The company specializes in making thin audio devices. I bought something similar to these Logitech speakers a few years ago and they surprising sounded very nicely.
NXT also has some kind of speakers that are literally like stickers so you can stick them to a wall for surround sound or something, it’s pretty cool.
I can’t believe more people didn’t comment on the description being a parody of Weird Al’s parody “Fat”
I dunno, but just don’t download it or Mr. Jackson’s lawyers might come knockin and you’ll have to beat it (pun unfortunately intended.)
Oh…and another thing, weird Al’s parody was really Bad. (somebody stop me!)
Looks like a convenient speaker to carry with your laptop (maybe someday).
Thanks anyway.
Wow! I remember buying these for $70 in June. I think I might buy another set…
1.24 inches is a lot closer to 3.1 cm than to 2.5
[quote user=“hobiephil”]
3.15 cm thick
i stand corrected. (i cut and paste the info from logitech’s site, http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/details/US/EN,CRID=2414,CONTENTID=10786)
youtube did it for me too =P pushed me over the fence. In for one, hope its fun!
CNET> The bottom line: Logitech’s mm28 speakers will add style points to your decor but deliver less than satisfying audio fidelity.
Thanks angisson. I’ll Pass.
These are made by logitech! Great price great sound for devices such as MP3 players Laptops etc. Don’t exspect to plug into your home stereo and rock the house down though. Logitech rocks! Can’t beat the price. Don’t get suckered into ebay - they are refurbs and shipping is high. Buy the woot!
heard that these where pretty bad, from a maximum pc review (not positive, though seems like a good deal for the price
