Really low end guitar, but would make a good gift for a kid.

wow, i just paid $250 for a guitar and a 15 watt amp on black friday deal. i already broke the 1st string while tuning it and already learned how to play “happy birthday to you”. and yes its electric guitar.

this is my first time playing guitar ever. not bad huh!

Is this a good guitar for learning on?
I’ve never played but it wouldn’t hurt to try.

So, no case or gig bag with this one? And according to the write-up, it comes with a replacement “string”? It does say string, singular.

what an insult to every guitar ever made. Would make a great Gift for someone who wont care about playing two months from now… but their lack of interest will be increased by the lack of quality in the toy.

Pretty nice for a beginner, it’ll look great in my son’s closet after the initial excitement wears off!

Yeah, that’s what I would think it would be best for, is learning.

my first electric guitar was a Washburn KC-40V and it is a fun guitar, great to start with and had incredibly fast action. I still have it and play it occasionally.

The Lyon is an entry level guitar, but it IS a washburn so you know its not going to be awful like so many no-name guitars at this price range. At the very least, its a hell of alot better than those “gibson” guitars that they sell at best buy. I would probably put it on the level of a cheap model Squire.

Interested in learning to play. Will make for a good starter.

But which string is it!? Which string!?

This is a solid Woot. If you are just getting into the git box, this would be a good place to start.

any guitar is good for learning on…but I think the name says it all… get one for your kids… they could buy you a house one day.

DON’T let the grandparents get this for your kid. Encourage your folks to be cheap and buy your kid a guitar that doesn’t plug into an amplifier…

I don’t know what any of that means.

My husband says he wants to learn to play the electric guitar, so I’m looking for any opinions on this.

So, any of you wooters who have ever said you’d like to learn to play, would you appreciate this as a gift?

(I like that it’s under a hundred bucks because I’m fairly certain this will end up in a corner, covered in dust…)

The Lyon is an entry level guitar, but it IS a washburn so you know its not going to be awful like so many no-name guitars at this price - It’s a washburn by lyon, low end company. Check it out.
