Wootcasts from the Past: Magellan Like a Felon Edition

C’mon Woot, you’re better than this. 2 items and some discounted shirts in the last 2hours of a Woot-Off.

Still love ya though!!!

Hint for moving things along: Buy more.

Still love you too.

Well played old chap -

But it’s a standalone GPS.

What are they going to be selling next, 8-track players? :stuck_out_tongue:

Hey, look at it this way…if you are still stuck in 2001 and want a standalone, factory reconditioned, not even the leading brand name, GPS unit…you can still spend money on it.

They’ve screwed up wine.woot so much by implementing a new pay system they have to keep fake selling out in order to work on technical difficulties. Damn pesky customers…trying to pay them money.

We may have finally reached saturation on GPS and Tablets!

In fairness, it’s $40. I have an old phone with a GPS that sucks monkey balls. If I felt I needed it (I still have a functional GPS from 2006) I would buy this instead of a new $200 “smartphone.”

I really hope this is next…

I mean, come on…it has skip protection included!! It’s a bargain at twice the price.

I prefer Garmin and love having a stand alone GPS. Cellphones are great but even in 4G territory have noticed a lag in updates compared to my GPS.

If I recall correctly, these run Win CE 5 or 6. They’re also rather easy to hack. Makes a nice touch-screen interface to something, and could be used as a keyboard or input to home projects.

Wine.woot is back up and running. Sorry for the problems.

Personly I prefer a stanalone GPS for the car. The screens are readable in the sun on a standalone and the map data is stored in the unit. Using a cell for GPS is useless in bright sun and if you are out of cell coverage.

Me too.

If I’m reading the map correctly, this GPS is passing through the foothills of Eagle Rock, overlooking Occidental College. A familiar route, indeed.

I like using GPS on my phone, but in my state, phone use by teens is prohibited, which means my daughter’s phone is turned off while she drives. This will be great for her.

Now it is ladders… like you say woot is better than this… I use to live for Woot-off day. give me something to Woot!

Are these being shipped via modus link? I’ve got a package coming from them via FedEx and I can’t figure out what it is. I thought maybe it was this, but my account hasn’t updated with shipping info yet.
