The battery looks awfully Dewalt like. Does anyone know if a Dewalt battery will fit this or not? Any ACTUAL experience with this?

@ThunderThighs I think your system is confused. I am signed in on Woot using my account - RebelTaz - but I am currently signed in to Amazon using Elevyn’s account. When I purchased this, it put it on her credit card using her name and address. I mean, it’s no big deal, it’s all one household anyway, but I didn’t know if your tech team wanted to know about this anomaly or not :man_shrugging:t3:

In a review on the mothership:

“Out of curiosity, I tried one of my dewalt 20v batteries. It almost fit, but it had a small amount if plastic preventing it from inserting all the way into the tool. So, after a couple minutes of plastic removal with a dremel, the dewalt battery fit perfectly and functions perfectly!”

Personally, I’m usually more inclined to modify a tool before the battery – especially when the tool was the lesser cost. Alternatively, buying an adapter and modifying that. I run a modified DeWalt tool → Makita battery adapter that I use on Bauer tools and have a Dayi tool → Makita battery adapter permanently mounted on an Einhell buffer.

I actually saw that tonight. That was my deciding factor in going ahead with the purchase. I am hoping that the tool can be modified, because I won’t modify the batteries for just this one tool. But yeah… I’ve got a 3d printer, wire and spade connectors. I can whip something up if I have to. I went with this one because it doe shave two batteries, so … even if I can’t (or more likely, I’m too lazy) to adpapt the Dewalt cells to this, I’m hoping it works well for decades :cowboy_hat_face:

Looking at it, it looks like it will be easier to modify the tool than the battery anyway. On the side rails on the DeWalt batteries, there are “ramp” protrusions inside each one towards the rear of the pack. You could Dremel those out, but I’d much rather trim the plastic rails on the tool down to match the ramps. I’ll wait until the woot “warranty” is up, but yeah… seems like a nice tool so far. I’ll actually put it through it’s paces tomorrow, but… glad I got it! :+1:t3:

@ThunderThighs

I don’t suppose anyone knows a contact email for this company? Freaking thing has lost ALL torque - I can grab the socket and stop it with my hand. :enraged_face:

Found this on the google.

You know what… I did find that page on the DuckDuckGo yesterday, but I did not see that email link at the bottom. Thank you!
