2011 Maroon Wines Signature Reserve Meritage, Napa Valley
Wondering if this has the glass “cork” as did the '07 Zin we got here back in '11.
WTSO had this a few months ago. $18.99 free ship on 4.
Calera uses, or used, those too. Hell on a corkscrew.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen “meritage” on a label. There was a meritage association (or something) that used to go after wineries who didn’t pay their dues to use that verbiage. Still happening?
I just bought a 2013 Kirkland Signature Napa Valley Meritage - 61% Merlot, 17% CS, 8% CF, 7% Malbec & 7% PV.
Quite nice for the price point. I haven’t heard if the Meritage folks are still enforcing their nomenclature rules. But, I do like most Meritages.
I’ve had quite a few Maroon wines, some have been excellent, all have been good. I squirreled away a few of their 07 & 08 Napa Cabs.
IMHO they make solid reds, especially at woot and wtso prices.
A Napa valley Meritage will generally mimic a Boudeaux, more or less.
Right. Generally left bank, I’ve found. Not many merlot-based blends getting big here in the good ol’ US of A.
You’re not getting out enough
Meritage Alliance has an up to date website and all that jazz.
long time no see.
Thanks RJ. Dang new job eats a lot of of my spare time, but I still try to lurk when I can
