I have tried all sorts of similarly designed solar lights and found that battery life is a common issue no matter what the brand. Battery chemistry can be an indicator of performance but I have found it very important to locate these in a location where they get maximum direct sunlight for the longest period of time. Also, cold weather hurts performance.One other thing I’ve found is using clear silicon caulking on all seams including the edge of the solar panel can extend the product life. It also keeps out ants which are interestingly attracted to making nests inside these things.
Prob replace these batteries with real lithium rechargeable ones and you will be good to go. I did that on my lawn light pole type and they lasted 3 years and at least 8 hours
