Yes, they smell. Wash on delicate, extra rinse, tumble dry low. Still considering a third one, they’re that good.

Quick answer: these might save your life!
Long answer: very warm, insulating, inexpensive, color coordinated, storable, perfect for the beach/picnic/survival. These blankets cost more everywhere else. They are simple, basic and heavy duty. We live in a world of disposable everything… this isn’t one of those things. Treat it right and it will last you a lifetime. You won’t regret it!

Okay, so, I prefer the plaid, but why do they look so much thinner in the photos?

The McGuire website says only that the blanket is “imported.” Do you know where it’s made?

To me, it looks like they are folded differently (I like the plaid better too)

I haven’t noticed a difference in the thickness of my multiple styles of blankets.

But absolutely - Please follow the directions above to gently launder these, in order to ease the initial odor/feel

Cheers!

I found a review on Amazon that showed the tag, which said it’s made in India.

I was just thinking that these were due to come around again.Gosh the price hasnt changed in a bit. Did some digging on the price of blankets and ouch. These are a great deal.

Ordered a couple of these. Did my due diligence and found this price to be exceptional. I’ve used wool “fire blankets” in the past and know the texture and smell quite well. To each, their own… i have acquired a taste for the “new blanket smell” and find it to be desirable. New blankets are a status symbol to some. Bling bling!

Bought three more of these after buying three last year at this price. Two are emergency vehicle blankets and who knows what I’ll do with these three…but, winter is coming… :slightly_smiling_face:

So I just got three of these. I decided to launder one, after washing it’s way thicker than it was out of the package, is that normal? Normal unexpected, it’s also much softer, if these didn’t smell, should they still have been washed? I don’t know if this is to be treated like a regular blanket or something different

Still stinky. Smells like they soaked up car exhaust. I’m thinking of washing them twice in a row, with a long soak cycle. If that doesn’t help, then IDK. Guess I could give them to a homeless shelter.

I got the navy blue one,no smell at all.

two washes, according to instructions. 80% less stink.

But the stitching on one wasn’t tied or it came undone. I think they forgot to tie it, the other one is fine.

PSA: it’s the dye from the blanket that keeps the blanket from rinsing clear. It took me longer to realize this because I bought the olive green one. Red and blue would have been obvious.
