These, and all their multitude ilk, while inexpensive, are really cheap steel. They work fairly well for short periods, but absolutely necessitate constant sharpening. They’re not even very sharp out of the box.
These are the ones I bought last year. The most useful tool remains the included sharpener:
And they’re heavy as hell. Great for thick cuts of meat and dense veggies, but not so much for smaller stuff and thin-slicing.
Further, the hole belies their performative nature - it’s literally useless.
If you simply want backup, camping knives, or dedicated hacking steel, go for it. The price is right. But caveat emptor. They’re a helluva’ lot prettier than they are functional.
And yes - they’re ALL the same.
