I bought one of these several months ago from woot. It is very solidly built. You’re not going to break it. 
The suction cup works well.
The only real issue I found was that the apples or potatoes have to be on the smaller side. Modern mutant red apples and potatoes will not fit.
Not sure if these come in different sizes, I would assume so. But just be aware that it is for smaller items. So maybe not the best utensil when your cooking for more than 3 or 4 people.
