Is this Version 2.0 or 3.0?
I have two of these.
Works with Google Assistant too.
Looks scary in the box (wires etc) but only took 5-10 minutes to set up.
Couple of things:
- Don’t forget that you need to have WiFi that reaches your garage.
- You need a cell signal to send an open request from your phone which is important because…
- The device severely limits the distance from which your regular old garage door openers work (RF interference).
I LOVE mine and will never go back; my car opener still works, but i usually just ask google to open my garage anyway (it requires a passcode by the way). Works perfectly for me.
My wife on the other hand made me unplug hers because her regular opener will not work at all anymore and her cell phone signal is so bad in the driveway that she cant get a signal through to the wifi opener either (we live in the boondocks).
So there are some caveats, but assuming you have good cell service, I’d highly recommend these. BONUS: in apple’s WWDC announcement yesterday they showed off smart garage door opening into carplay so it will be right in your dash screen!!
