So what is the difference between this and the “upgraded” version?

From the description on the Amazon product page: “This is the upgraded version, which has solved the interference issues our old verion may cause to some garage door remotes.”
I used this to add smartphone capability to my sliding door gate actuator (OrangeZ I think, it’s one of the generic sliding gate chain drives available on Amazon in the $150 range) when I found out what a pain it was to add new remotes to it. Super easy to install, really inexpensive and it works like a champ! Small enough to fit inside the enclosure, along with the USB power adapter. Love this little gadget, it’s been operating flawlessly for months now.
