Hey, saw one of these earlier today on “America’s Funniest Home Videos” hit a guy in a face (don’t ask me how and why that channel ended up being on)…

But on a serious note - how crash-proof are they? It says can fly up 30 feet… ummm can it withstand a 30 foot plunge?

here’s a pretty excellent in-depth review

Need an IOU for your stocking heres the image for an IOU

Oh, a mini Roswell.

Charging!!!
Ouch!
8 - AA batteries, per review above!!!

How about a wall charger? No? WHY???

On the other note - the picture of a charger seems somewhat familiar? MiniUSB plug? Is it in fact what it looks like? Then it would be a much better deal, because everybody who’s anybody already has a MiniUSB charger at home… Or at least should!

-Edit- Yeah, and description also mentions 8 AA’s… that’s a lot…

LOL at the awesome V sendup! <– Wierd, I thought for sure woot mangled LOL, but I guess not. Explains why I can’t remember what it mangled it to.

But a single-axis chopper?! even if I bought three, I’m still not quite sure how to rig them into a big platform with highly instable controls… balsa wood and (very small pieces of) duct tape, I guess, but sounds like a big hassle. No thanks this time, but if someone else does, remember it was my idea; licensing fee is simply youtubing it and posting here.

With a good tail wind, could a 6 year old make the 90 mile trip to grandma’s house or would he need a helium assist?

This just in, Balloon boy’s dad just ordered 30 of these using 10 aliases. I smell a jailbreak!

Got this on the previous Woot. It’s surprisingly fun, even though the cat is too scared of it to really play. Basically it is a very high tech yo-yo, you try not to crash into the ceiling or the floor by making it bounce up and down in the air. So far I’ve had no success getting it to “hover”, just shoot up and then go into free fall. I’m excited for the weather to get nicer so I can take it outside and see what happens.

It seems really flimsy, but it has crashed many MANY times already and has been just fine. The blades bend in all different directions but go right back into position when they start spinning.

The amount of batteries is insane though, and really jacks up the price. The little round watch batteries in the remote didn’t work and I had to replace them too, which doubled the price of the toy.

So, Whats the max weight one of these suckers can lift?

Tie a couple of these to the dog and have some fun.

Bought one last time they had it, it broke the first day. If you are careful with it, it does work well.

I bought 2 of these from woot! on a 2fer tuesday - pure fun. Be prepared for 8 AAs for the charger. Turn off the lights for a longer run time. FYI - terrorize your cats with them!

Somebody misspelled “wood”.
