MicroGEM QuickiDrive 2GB USB Micro Drive

This is not a flash drive, it houses a mini hard drive inside. I was just looking at the 4GB version on Buy, but wouldn’t consider getting one with a hard drive. Figure you can get a descent 2GB flash for a couple extra bucks if you look around abit… heck B35t.Buy had a 1GB for $19 no rebates in the sunday paper… so you know a few sites have the 2GB for about the same.

It comes with a USB cable so that sorta makes me think it won’t fit in my pocket.

It’s $39.99 at Comp USA and rated 4/5 stars (with one review). Doesn’t sound like a bad deal. But I don’t have much use for it.

Note this comment from Digg.com:

2GB USB Micro Drive for $20 at CompUSA for $20. Not a bad deal on it by itself. Sure it’s big and ugly, but crack it open and there’s a 2.2GB microdrive inside (that is very easily removed). You can also use the internal board as USB CompactFlash reader.

I will stick with flash, thank you.
Night all!

Is this a joke? If you are only going to sell one product a day it needs to be cooler than best buys 2001 inventory.

not flash memory thus I will pass.

can you tear apart is there a compact flash card in side???

no it dont bend thats why usb caBLE

No thanx brought the 4gb for $18 from www.officemax.com
Much higher for the 2gb

no. this is a MICRODRIVE (HDD) 2GB flash is not hard to come by, but not for anywhere near this price.

i have the 1 gig version of one of these, and it is flawless. i love the plug and play, and i have never had a problem with it, and i’ve had it for a year. i take it with me everywhere. i highly suggest these to everyone, especially at this price

Forgot to mention: if you’d bought those crunkly-multi-angle USB extender things, you wouldn’t need some sort of long USB extension cord. Still, it would look pretty hideous, but then - doesn’t all the power cabling and wires to your box look fairly awful also (presuming you’ve got one that has lots of junk attached to it).

Moving parts = bad
No moving parts = good

I wish it would make it a little more clear, but the reason for the awkward shape is that this contains a miniature disk drive..so, it will be a little more fragile and not as durable as a Flash drive. Still, for $23 bucks, a pretty good price if you need storage over toughness. Just remember to take it out of your pocket next time you go snowboarding.

I liked Overstock.com’s description for this:

“MicroGem 4GB Portable USB Flash Hard Drive”

??? how can something be both Flash and a hard drive ???

gwbaker: a 2gb sandisk flash drive for $15? Where?!?!?! please tell me!!

Looks like a Frakkin Nut cracker

Meh. Only two bucks cheaper than at CompUSA. It’s cool, but it’s not that great a deal, imo.

And I just got a server error. Are the servers getting pounded over this this thing? Do that many people want one? Should I reconsider?

Nah.

Whats the difference between a flash drive and this thing???

Shipping is fast. Usually 2 days within Texas so gauge that by where you live…

You can get the 4GB off of Amazon For $64
