Micron M500DC 240GB 1.8" SATA SSD

Whats the deal with this? 240gb SSD for more than double what I could buy one that’s not on sale? It’s still SATAIII (6gbps), regular old MLC. Why would anyone want to buy this?

Yeah, what gives?!?

In for none!

This is what I paid for my 500Gb Samsung 850 Pro. This 240 better give massages or cook dinner.

This is a Data Center drive. It is intended for entry level enterprise usage and has massive over provisioning, superior power loss protection, and vastly improved steady state operation compared to consumer level drives. If you are running database workloads, etc. this is the kind of SSD you need(although its not the only choice by any means).
