So does it come with a keyboard or not?
Yes.
The keyboard is the Type Cover which is listed as being included.
(Please note: I don’t work for Woot, I just volunteer to help out here on the forums.)
Hi there. Type cover is included. That’s standard text from Microsoft. I’ll ask them to update it.
I had one of these new back in the day. I liked it but died prematurely from bulging battery itis. Have never had that happen before and would put me off of buying this again so many years later. For this price, an iPad would make more sense.
Ooo this is tempting, but it’s 7 year old hardware. Any experience from anyone on performance? Lagginess, battery life, etc?
That Intel Atom x7-Z8700 processor is pretty slow now days. If this form factor is important, I would spend the extra money and buy a Surface Go.
I bought one of these for my daughter from Woot about a week ago. She started using it at school yesterday and almost immediately the wifi would disconnect and reconnect every couple of minutes. They largely use Google docs in school, so this made it pretty useless. I spent a good part of last night trying to download updates and get it going for her. Downloading anything over wifi that keeps crapping out is a nightmare. I did what I could and it looked like it may be ok. She just texted me that it’s doing it again. Starting the return process now. Of course, YMMV.
If this clearance deal had been available before Lenovo came out with their Duet convertible laptop/tablet, I might have considered getting this Surface 3 and installing Linux on it.
As it is, the Duet pretty much scratches my itch to have a Linux-capable FHD tablet (via crostini), which makes this deal a little late (and a little overpriced by comparison) to fit my needs and interests. Not saying it’s a bad deal – I’m still tempted – just that it’s one that I don’t need at this point.
Resolution: 1920 x 1080
Aspect Ratio: 3:2
Per Microsoft, this should be 1920x1280, which is a 3:2 aspect ratio (as listed); 1920x1080 is 16:9.
Thanks! They’re updating the info now.
Could it be antivirus that’s causing the wifi connection issue? Try disabling that and see if it works better.
