Does this include the keyboard?

It comes with the performance base so yes it comes with the keyboard.

I have one of the core i5 versions with the performance base. I absolutely love it. Does decent gaming as long as you dont expect to game at the full supported resolution the screen can handle.

This is a very good price for what you get.

Why don’t the Windows folks build in an LTE antenna, like you get with a iPad or a smartphone, This omission just amazes me.

There is a new Surface Pro with LTE. Just not the Surface Book yet.

What’s the battery life on just the tablet alone?

$80 cheaper when bought directly from Microsoft:

[MOD: That’s an i5. Ours in an i7]

[Original poster: Thanks mod, so it is. :-)]

I believe it’s quoted to be about 3 hours.

The one listed on Microsoft is the core I5 for $969 this is the Core I7 witch is $110 more on Microsoft.

thanks

Thank you, so it is.

I have the i5 model I use as my primary work computer. Connected through the port replicator to 2 27" monitors and a 55" monitor on the wall through a USB3.0 HDMI connector. Drives all four screens (the unit makes 4) with no issues.

Very happy with the performance. Would definitely buy this if in the market for one for home.

That poor drunk elephant should have never fallen asleep around his friends.

I have one of these that I bought a year ago on Black Friday and it has been BY FAR the best laptop I’ve ever had. So fast, free of crapware, and just flawless. Battery life on tablet alone is not too bad, I’ve never run out. Maybe 3-5 hours with reasonable brightness and load. (Max brightness is WAY bright). Do yourself a favor and buy one of these. Only design flaw I’ve noticed is that the very top row of pixels tends to blink somewhat when on battery power. This is a known issue having to do with the NVIDIA GPU. Google it for more. Doesn’t bother me, but some of you obsessive types might be troubled by it.

Why don’t you use the hotspot on your phone?

I have one of these for work and LOVE IT.

Keep in mind, this is not the Performance Base model. That model has slightly different hardware (most notably a 2GB GeForce 965M). This model is the original dGPU SBook with a 1GB GeForce 940M, which is still a pretty decent GPU for general use and light gaming.

Hi Woot - who is the Factory Reconditioner? Is it Microsoft, or a third-party? Really tempted, just wondering how “new” these will be?? Thanks much.

This sounds silly but can I use this in “tent” mode?

Oooh… conflicting information. (Even though I think shifuimam is correct.)
