“Surface Laptop SE ships with an Intel Celeron N4020 and N4120 CPU”
Which CPU is it? This is included in the features every time this item comes up for sale and I do not believe that it has ever been clarified.
Also, as has been previously mentioned…
“Support for Windows 11 SE will end in October 2026”
Key features and limitations include:
-
Target Market: Primarily K-8 education on affordable hardware like the Surface Laptop SE.
-
Management: Fully managed via Microsoft Intune for Education, restricting app installation to a pre-approved list (e.g., Chrome, Zoom, Office).
-
Web-First Design: Optimized for web apps and cloud storage, with files saved to OneDrive by default.
-
Simplified Interface: Apps launch in full-screen mode, and there are no widgets.
-
No Public Availability: Windows 11 SE cannot be purchased separately or installed on existing hardware; it only comes pre-installed on new education devices.
Another Wooter did mention that the 8/128 configuration would have the N4120.
Can’t vouch for such myself, though. I mean, I suppose I could look deeper into it, but I’m busy right meow. I have to … uh, watch paint dry or something.
In better mews, at least Microsoft didn’t announce that they’d be hiking the price on these.
Definitely not on my recommended “Buy” list…
