Microsoft Surface Pro 11 X Elite 13" OLED Tablet

be careful, these don’t come with keyboard, and the keyboards could cost $100 to $300 for you.
and a lot of other things. Best know what it is before buying.
It is unbelievably cheap though for this grade of power.

I wonder how this compares the new MacBook Air. I know different audience, but still.

I bought one of these a few months ago.

It’s very easy to swap out the SSD for a larger one, up to 2TB. (Look it up on YouTube.)

Windows on an ARM processor does have a few shortcomings:
– It takes a long time to boot up, but other than that, performance is very good.
– some games won’t work well
– some printers, scanners, and older peripherals don’t have drivers. My Epson printer/scanner prints okay, but the Epson scanner utility doesn’t work. I have to use a clunky generic Windows scan utility instead.

Still, overall, I don’t regret switching to this machine from an older Surface. All of the apps I use either have a native ARM version or run well in X86 emulation.

I too bought the OLED 1TB MSP11XE the last time it was listed on WOOT! I Your points about this tablet are spot on. The Canon support says that my specific AIO will install the ARM drivers that are required to work with the tablet, but I have yet to get it to do so. The driver says it’s installing, but after a minute it fails.
99% of the support articles recommend the Intel processor for these tablets until there’s more support in these areas for ARM based processors.
Oh, and @Wooter663457905 , you’re right about all of the add-ons being way overpriced. I was able to score used like new pen and docking station for a fraction of the original cost. Compatible keyboards can be found for a fraction, too, but won’t charge when connected to the tablet. I can live with that for the huge cost difference.
Forgot to mention, the 1TB version is $170 cheaper this go round. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

How much of an upgrade would this be over a Surface Book 3? I would be getting a better CPU but going from a Nvidia GPU to an Adreno GPU. Ram would also be cut in half from 32 to 16 and I’m sure it’s soldered in on both of them.

If I recall correctly, there’s a Costco exclusive? model that has 32 GB ram. Besides more memory, all of the other specs are the same. Yes, ram is soldered.

Costco never sold a 32GB RAM model. They are available other places.

It takes a long time to boot up? Mine boots in about 20 seconds.

I have mine connected to a dock and the dock has an external 2TB SSD attached. This for whatever reason extends the boot up time considerably. It does boot faster when it isn’t connected.
