Microsoft Surface Pro 4 12" 16GB 512GB Tablet

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 12" 16GB 512GB Tablet

Pretty decent value. Top Ram, large SSDrive. Most of the early Pro 4 problems were fixed in firmware updates. The only caveat is no keboard/cover and pen, which will set you back a bit more if you want 'em. Year warrenty helps. Lesser, used, beat up ones regularly go for a little over half this, with all the risks that entails.

Hi, I pulled the trigger on this one, but I’ve been hearing that a lot of Surface Pro 4’s suffer from flickergate. Can we be assured that these units were tested for that?

I was about to point out you could get an 8gb/128gb SP7 with typecover bundle for like $800 now, but the SP4 16gb for $500 isn’t a horrible deal if you really need the RAM and/or storage space. CPU performance with the i5 is good enough for most things.

I bought this model new 2+ years ago after retiring my 3 year old original surface pro. They both served me well. Never had a flicker problem on either one. This is a solid, fast, windows os, tablet/laptop (with surface mouse and keyboard). Great if you need to take your computer on the go. I think this set up brand new, two years ago was over $2k. This is a great price for a functional, touch screen, laptop.

Will this work with any wireless keyboard/mouse with usb receiver ? Does it get hot ? thanks.

My Sp4 has an issue where the backlighting gets wonky if you leave it on for extended periods of time. Not the flicker issue, though. It has held up quite well over the years otherwise… my kid inherited it for Minecraft camp, and I bought a new SP7 for me.

I got my wife one 4 years ago, she loved it, got myself one 3 years ago and I loved it. Job gave me a new SP7 this year and it is great as well. I have definitely noticed a decrease in battery life.

My question is what occurs with the Microsoft refurb process? New battery?

Same here on the battery question and flickergate??? I bought a same spec’d model as this deal but as a refurb soon after they came out. Worked like a charm for years last 12 months had battery life drop down to maybe 3 hours with a lot of energy savings turned on. Last 6 months flickergate occurred. I had it in a handy portable case. Removed that and the flicker issue rarely occurs. I want to upgrade but if this has a newer battery I’m game. @ThunderThighs can someone answer this battery question???
