I’ve not handled either of these sets, but I have Mikasa Kya flatware and love it! It’s very, very hard to find balanced flatware these days at a reasonable price and my Kya set is beautifully balanced, durable and easy to care for. I’d go Mikasa again for flatware in a heartbeat.
Which one do YOU like the best?
I like the harmony ( imo has a little bit more elegance w/ the little design band on it ) and @conanthelibrarian likes the other one, cause he likes the shape. In the end, it really doesn’t matter–well, unless of course you are having us over for dinner. lol But even then, your table.
Amazon is doing some “fuzzy math”.
12 each of 6 individual pieces + 5 serving pieces is NOT 65.
It’s 77.
So which is it Amazon ?
I’m guessing from looking at the picture that the mistake is in the copy that says there are steak knives included.
There would be 65 if it was service for 12 of a 5pc place setting plus the serving pieces.
Note I rounded the numbers.
Woot: $90 for 12 settings plus 5 for ship. = 95
Amazon: $111( includes ship at 'zom)
Only 16 bucks more for the Serving pieces. If they really did have the steak knives that would be a phenom. deal. But like I said, I think someone screwed up the copy on Amazon.
Still , if you want the serving pieces, and you wanted 12 place settings, I’d go w/ the Amazon. $16 for 5 serving pieces is pretty good.
Without the ability to comment on their feel and heft, I’d say Satin Loft is more modern/contemporary and edgy. Harmony seems to be more traditional. So, it becomes a matter of taste and also to some extent, the style of your plates and dishes they will accompany.
I have the Harmony set with serving pieces. It does NOT come with steak knives. As for the flatware, I’ve had it for a year and love it. It can be used for both formal and informal occasions. So far we have had no problems with rust or spotting.
