what on earth are you talking about?
did you even look at the pictures at all?
What I am talking about is that sometimes products are sold to more than one reseller. Some company in Asia makes these things and Sony said they wanted to buy “X” number of them. Sony puts a very high mark-up on their goods, thus name brand and name brand prices.
But sometimes the reseller may loose interest in the product or turn their focus towards somewhere else and the company making the things finds someone else to sell them to. Same product, different brand name. So don’t get hung up on the ‘Mini Disk’ label, look at what’s in the box.

Does it really matter? Most big companies don’t make these products as we all know. Who cares whose name is on it. If it works, then why worry. You are going to plug it into 1 computer copy some stuff. Go to another computer and copy to it. It’s small with plenty of space and it works.
People you like to ■■■■■ WAY to much here.
Thanks Woot! Finally bought something from you that I have been looking for a good deal on.

but the link you posted was to a flash card, not a usb thumbdrive.
I was in the middle of drawing out the dimensions and about to calculate the money lost if I returned my old flash drive… Now I don’t have the reason
Oh well. There must be a lot of happy wooters out there right now.

i’m not complaining…
i just didn’t want anyone to get all excited because someone thinks it’s a sony.
But dont you think that when sony buys from the manufacturer they exercise a very tight quality control, and so charge a premium for that, but the “working products” that are rejected by companies like sony would be sold like this for less.
Dont get me wrong I am not saying this is bad, it could be that Sony and minidisk (or whatever brand) buy from the same asian manufacturer, but SONY has better quality control margin than this manufacturer and thus charges a premium for it.
But still a good deal in my opinion, though I am not buying anything from woot again till I get shipping confirmations for my dell speakers

i guess it’s still possible that it’s the same as the sony, only sold by another company, but i rather doubt it.
That image the website offered was a ‘default’ image, that means that if the didn’t have a current image available the they would use that faded black-and-white one of the CompactFlash card. Right there under the image it says “No Picture”.
Well in my case I couldnt see it on fatwallet as the post there is given a very negative rating and I have a filter on my fatwallet account for anything less than poor ratings, maybe you have one too…
